What readability formulas does the tool calculate?
The tool calculates 5 indices: Flesch Reading Ease, Gunning Fog, SMOG, Coleman-Liau and ARI (Automated Readability Index). Each index measures text complexity from different perspectives: sentence length, word complexity, letters, and syllables.
What is the difference between Italian and English calibration?
Italian uses the Vacca-Franchina calibration for the Flesch index, adapted to Italian morphology (medium-length words and more frequent syllables than English), select the correct language for more accurate results.
What does a high Flesch score mean?
A high Flesch score (80-100) indicates a very easy-to-read text suitable for a wide audience. Scores between 60-79 are considered "easy", 50-59 "standard". Below 30, the text is very difficult, typical of academic or legal texts.
How does the "Load from URL" mode work?
Entering a URL, the tool retrieves the page through a secure proxy on the server, removes HTML tags, scripts and styles, and populates the text field with extracted textual content. No direct requests are made from the browser to external sites.
