Select the Italian city to analyze

Choose from the menu one of Italy's main industrial areas. Geographical coordinates are automatically resolved. E-PRTR data covers the main industrial hubs (Taranto, Marghera, Augusta, Brindisi, Ravenna and others) with the highest emissions concentrations.

Set search radius and reference year

Define the radius in km around the selected city (default: 25 km) and reference year. The E-PRTR Registry collects annually declared data from industrial facilities subject to European legislation (CE Regulation 166/2006). Data from the most recent year are available with a delay of approximately 12-18 months.

Analyze installations and air emissions

Results show each E-PRTR installation with total emissions in air (kg/year), industry sector NACE code, main pollutant released and estimated risk (colored badge). The accessible table at the bottom allows for further analysis data export.

Empty results may indicate that there are no facilities subject to E-PRTR declaration in this area or that they have not exceeded emission thresholds.

How to use these data for in-depth environmental analysis?

For detailed analysis, integrate E-PRTR data with: the regional air quality monitoring network ARPA (station-by-station data), available AIA permits on the ISPRA portal, and epidemiological data from ISTAT for health-emission correlation. The complete E-PRTR dataset is freely downloadable from the ISPRA portal (CC-BY 4.0) in CSV format for GIS or statistical analysis.

Can I compare emissions from multiple years for the same plant?

Do not directly in the tool: search returns one year at a time. To compare over time, repeat the search changing the reference year and note the results, or download the complete E-PRTR dataset from the ISPRA portal for multi-year historical analysis.
