Domande frequenti
What is the AGIRC-ARRCO supplementary pension?
It is the mandatory French supplementary pension. Since 2019, AGIRC (executives) and ARRCO (all employees) have been merged into a single scheme. Points are accumulated throughout the working life. It is managed jointly by employer and union bodies.
How does the points system work?
Every year, contributions are paid that purchase points at the "prix d'achat du point" (purchase price of the point, EUR 1.9048 in 2026). At retirement, points are multiplied by the "valeur de service du point" (service value of the point, EUR 1.4159 in 2026) to calculate the annual pension.
What is the coefficient de solidarite (10% penalty)?
If you retire before age 67 without the full rate, a 10% penalty applies for 3 years (or until age 67). This is the "coefficient de solidarite". The 83% calculation shown in the tool is a simplified estimate.
Can I buy back quarters to increase my points?
Yes. The "rachat de trimestres" (buy-back of quarters) allows you to purchase periods of study, inactivity, or unpaid part-time work. It is costly but can significantly increase the pension if done before age 45-50.
