Who is entitled to the Familienbeihilfe?

All parents residing in Austria with children up to 24 years old (if in education) or 18 years old (in general). It is requested via form Beih 1 at the Finanzamt.

What is the Kinderabsetzbetrag?

The Kinderabsetzbetrag is an additional tax credit of 67.80 EUR/month per child, paid automatically together with the Familienbeihilfe. It is not subject to taxation.

Up to what age is it paid?
