BR-001 - Fibre composition sums to 100%
Code: BR-001 Name: The fibre composition of a textile material must sum to 100% Description: The sum of all declared fibre percentages for a textile material must be exactly 100%, with a tolerance of ±1% for computational rounding and ±3% for impurities per EU Reg. 1007/2011. Motivation: Regulatory compliance (EU Regulation 1007/2011) and correctness of consumer information. Priority: CRITICAL Actors: PLM System, QC Manager Violation: The material is marked as non-conformant; labelling cannot be generated. Traceability: EU Regulation 1007/2011, Art. 17; sources.md

BR-002 - SKU is immutable
Code: BR-002 Name: The SKU code is immutable after first assignment Description: Once assigned to a variant-size, the SKU code cannot be modified. If a product is restructured or discontinued, a new SKU is created; the original is marked DISCONTINUED but never deleted. Motivation: Preserve sales history, orders and returns. Modifying an SKU silently breaks integrations with ERP, e-commerce and analytics systems. Priority: HIGH Actors: ERP System, PLM, e-commerce Violation: Operation rejected; audit log created. Traceability: Industry best practice; best-practices.md BP-02

BR-003 - Critical sell-through triggers mandatory markdown
Code: BR-003 Name: Garments with sell-through < 30% at week six require a markdown plan Description: If a garment's sell-through is below 30% at the end of the sixth sales week, the system must automatically generate a progressive markdown plan. The merchandiser can modify the plan but cannot ignore it without documented justification. Motivation: Prevent accumulation of unsold stock; maximise marginal revenue on inventories. Priority: HIGH Actors: Merchandiser, Pricing System Exceptions: Garments classified as "evergreen" (non-seasonal) are exempt. Traceability: best-practices.md BP-06; use-cases.md UC-05
---
BR-004 - Collection approved before production
Code: BR-004 Name: A collection must be in APPROVED state before any production order can be confirmed Description: Production orders can be created in DRAFT state while the collection is IN-DEVELOPMENT, but cannot be confirmed (CONFIRMED state) until the collection has reached APPROVED state. Motivation: Avoid production on unvalidated designs that generate waste and returns. Priority: HIGH Actors: Creative Director, Production Manager, PLM System Violation: Order confirmation blocked; notification to Production Manager. Traceability: business-processes.md BP-01
---
BR-005 - GOTS certification requires complete supply chain traceability
Code: BR-005 Name: A GOTS-certified garment must have traceability documents for each supply chain level Description: To declare GOTS certification on a garment, certification documents must be present and validated for all supply chain suppliers (tier 1, 2, 3). An expired certificate from any supplier invalidates the certification of the entire batch. Motivation: GOTS v6.0 compliance; brand protection from greenwashing accusations. Priority: CRITICAL Actors: Compliance Officer, Supplier, Traceability System Violation: Certification cannot be declared; batch marked as non-certifiable. Traceability: GOTS v6.0 §3; sources.md

BR-006 - Production overage is limited and tracked
Code: BR-006 Name: Production overage cannot exceed 10% of the ordered quantity Description: Manufacturers may produce up to 10% more than the ordered quantity to compensate for defective garments (standard: 3–5%). Any overage must be declared in the delivery note. Overage beyond 10% is not accepted and is charged to the manufacturer as non-conformity. Motivation: Cost and quality control; limit unplanned stock accumulation. Priority: MEDIUM Actors: Manufacturer, Logistics Manager, QC Manager Traceability: glossary.md - Production Overage; business-processes.md BP-03
---
BR-007 - Approved tech pack required before counter sample
Code: BR-007 Name: The manufacturer can start the counter sample only after tech pack approval Description: The tech pack must be in APPROVED state before the manufacturer can start producing the counter sample. DRAFT or REVIEW versions are not valid for starting the production process. Motivation: Avoid samples based on incomplete specifications; reduce revision cycles. Priority: HIGH Actors: Technical Designer, Manufacturer, PLM System Traceability: terminology.md - Counter Sample

BR-008 - Seasonality of stock
Code: BR-008 Name: Stock of a seasonal garment is not transferable between seasons without recategorisation Description: Garments produced for a season (e.g. AW 2026) that are unsold cannot be reclassified as stock for the next season (e.g. SS 2027) without Merchandiser approval. Transfers to outlet channel are permitted without approval if sell-through is below 20% at season end. Motivation: Maintain integrity of sell-through analyses by season. Priority: MEDIUM Actors: Merchandiser, Logistics Manager Traceability: glossary.md - Season, Outlet
